In this technique class, Santa Fe artist Jone Hallmark shows you how it’s done. She spent many years designing colorful borders for the scrapbook industry, with ideas for patterns on cards, envelopes, stickers, picture frames, stationery, etc., swirling around in her head. Join her in this class to explore the endless possibilities for combining colors and patterns. A huge advantage is that you watch Jone up close and personal as she demonstrates how she paints. Jone’s creative life started on the floor of her father’s studio, where she sat as a child surrounded by brushes, paints, and a treasure of paper. The envelopes were decorated in the most delightful way, and the precious little notes of good cheer were written in a magical flowery alphabet. It’s actually rather simple. Starting with the three templates she’s drawn, Jone shows you how to make and decorate the small fairie envelopes. A really fun part of the class is creating a little personalized alphabet for the messages based on your own hand writing. The letters can be used in all sorts of ways: a note from a secret friend or the Tooth Fairy, an occasional little letter from Gramma, or a teeny message to share a secret or just some love with a dear friend.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eJone provides several examples for inspiration.
