She loves to explore different media and will attempt to make art out of nearly anything. You can often find her in the Art Parts Creative Reuse store in Boulder, softly exclaiming to herself, “I could make art out of that!”. She believes that imagination, design, and expression are inspirational and therapeutic for newbies as well as experienced artists. Throughout her academic career she was an advocate for the use of visual and creative methods, and has presented and written extensively on the value of handwriting, drawing, images, and media in research and scholarly communications.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eJanet has extensive professional and volunteer experience in the arts. She spent a decade directing a cultural education and outreach program at the Cornell University Center for Performing Arts, and also worked with the National Endowment for the Arts as a site reporter across the US. She served on the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company board, the Boulder Arts Commission, including a year as chair.
